About Joanna

Joanna is a mother, wife, educator, neighbor, and Mound supporter. After earning a BA (English) and MA (teaching), she served her community as a public high school teacher and as an instructor in a women’s prison. She married husband Rob, who works in advertising and is passionate about restoring classic cars, and then transitioned to stay-at-home mom after the birth of her three children. Dorothy (8), Mitchell (6), and Beatrice (5) all attend Hilltop.
Currently, Joanna serves as Chair of the Mound Parks and Open Spaces Commission, and she also serves on the Westonka Library Art Selection Committee. In addition, she works at the WAC, maintains her blue Little Free Library on the Dakota Trail, and volunteers as cookie mom for her daughters' Girl Scout troops.
